This is the part where my lack of training and impatience with recipes and instructions usually comes in and bites me in my cute behind. The fact that I’m not big on eating dessert doesn’t help my cause either! But I will give it a bash, and try my best to follow the recipe. Here we go!
Original Recipe from: ‘ Hairy Bikers everyday gourmets’ on the food network channel.
check out recipe on: http://www.bbc.co.uk/food/recipes/hazelnut_and_chocolate_32339
Dessert: Cashew ‘nutted’ strawberry Pavlova.
Confession no. 1: I’ve already changed the recipe ingredients. Raspberries are not in season, so strawberries it is. I don’t like nuts in food( I know they add texture blah blah blah, still don’t appreciate them) but if i really have to, cashews i can tolerate so I will give them a try.
Confession no.2: my local supermarket does not have creme fraiche, which is one of the ingredients in the recipe. But what is creme fraiche? Mildly sour cream, right? So I’ll just add lemon juice to cream, should work. At least I hope so, otherwise my dessert is going to be a disaster and the last meal is the meal your guest remember your dinner party by.

Confession no.3- I added 3 tbs of icing sugar not 1, I thought it wasn’t sweet enough.
END RESULT : Tasted delicious but my meringues were hard and burnt at the bottom, I had to scrape off the burnt parts. And I followed the meringue recipe to the T!!! Therefore not my fault and maybe I’m not meant to make desserts. But I’m not giving up, I will get it eventually. Last course not a success I wanted it to be, but my guests still had a good time and enjoyed the night, regardless. Still proud..
It was amazing!
