Due to unforeseen circumstances, that is, electricity randomly going off because of unscheduled load shedding, the blog posts might not be as regular for the next couple of days. At least until I figure out what the heck ESKOM( our energy supplier) is trying to do and for how long it’ll interrupt my dinners.
And I had such an amazing dinner planned for tonight, pork fillet! I don’t want to give away too much detail.
But let me just state, my son and I, were ready to go to the bush to look for wood at 20h00 in the night, when we realised we didn’t even have any coal or wood to cook on the weber or braai. But my husband is scared of snakes. ..! Note: husband, not my 2 year old son! Apparently they leave there with their best friends, the spiders and the scorpions, just waiting for us!
So this meant, first driving around town to hopefully find an open restaurant with a generator and therefore we could have dinner or secondly what we ended up doing, which was driving around looking for open convenience stores that would probably then take cash only in the dark but would give us some coal nonetheless. The timing doesn’t help us much either, most places are closed by 19h00.
Moral of the story, wish me luck. I’ll need it. I will let you know tomorrow how it all went down.
Hope your dinner is sorted!
