Phuza ‘Thursdaying’ again: Strawberry Gin & tonic

You can never go wrong with a G&T, ever! #true story. There is no drink in the world more refreshing than a G&T. Especially after this long day I’ve had, wheeeeu. And I know I keep saying this but it really feels like it’s been the longest year, ever too!😳.

Anyway, in light of my recent adventurous trip through the wine route this Monday. From the 10km ‘Totalsports Ladies Race, Stellenbosch’ in the freezing wee hours of the morning, to a pit stop at the strawberry farm. Then all the way to Hermanus on the East Coast of the Western province for some lunch and whale watching. Funny story though was, there were more whales in the waters outside my house on this day than I saw in Hermanus! They even made it into the front pages of the news papers.

Moral of the story, it was a good women’s day. And besides my painful quadriceps, I also scored a good strawberry liqueur at the strawberry farm. Which is the star of my afternoon past time today.

I’m drinking a pink, strawberry gin & tonic.

What do I need?

Gin

Tonic water

Lime cordial

Strawberry liqueur

fresh strawberries

What to do?

Throw in fresh strawberries, cut into halves into a big glass and add ice.

Then stir in 75ml of gin, 100ml of tonic water, 15ml of lime cordial and mix.

Add in 15ml of the strawberry liqueur,  and let this stain your drink beautifully light pink.

Stir and enjoy!

Ultimate refreshment😁🎊 .

Health and Nutrition fanatic. I live by a few chants...: 1. Before I do anything whether related to food or not, I ask myself ' Is it worth the calories?' Whether literally or figuratively( i.e. Is the decision worth the stress, effort, investment) 2. What you put in must come out! If you don't let it out, it settles on your tummy and hips. 3. 'Everything happens for a reason'. I try reflect on situations I find myself in, whether by choice or not. And look for Lessons I'm meant to learn from them, in order to grow.
